Design, management and completion of a full refurbishment and de-carbonisation
Scarbrook working in partnership with Fortem Solutions Ltd was selected by Bassetlaw Council to design, manage and complete a full refurbishment and de-carbonisation of a sheltered accommodation facility in Worksop.
Scarbrook was responsible for assisting with the designs of the whole electrical package including the installation of the PV system, as well as the installation of two commercial heat pumps along with the replacement of the entire heating system throughout all the communal area and flats.
A flagship project encompassing commercial air-source heat pumps
This was a flagship project for the main client, where they decided at a strategic level to start to de-carbonise their housing stock, by removing fossil fuel (gas) and replacing this with electric, powered by two commercial air-source heat pumps.
Working in a complex building, installing for maximum efficiency
There were many challenges in a scheme of this nature, these included the complexities of the design to ensure the new heat pumps would work to their maximum efficiency, locating the space for all the new equipment and the installation of new communal mains pipe throughout a complex building.
Scarbrook worked closely with Fortem Solution’s designers and operational team to work through the whole installation, to iron out every potential issue and ensure the installation went as seamless as possible. Scarbrook’s lead commercial engineer was instrumental in setting out the entire equipment to ensure it fitted within the tight space perfectly.
A resounding success, delivered on time and within budget
The whole scheme was regarded as a resounding success, was delivered on and time and within the budget and has now lead to the main client selecting us for their second scheme.
